Notting Hill es uno de los barrios más conocidos de Londres, en parte, por la pelicula protagonizada por Julia y Hugh. Se trata de un barrio de casas bajas y coloristas que los fines de semana se llena de locales y turistas paseando por su mercado callejero. Distinguimos dos zonas: lo gastronómico y los trapos, es decir, ponerse hasta las cejas de crepes dulces y salados, comida étnica e incluso la paella...y la otra zona de compras de confección y decoración.
Hay tiendas típicas con las mismas prendas souvenir de Londres pero con un punto chic, franquicias conocidas como All Saints Spitalfields (con su inmenso muro trasero plagado de máquinas de coser como las que tenía mi abuela en su taller...qué emotivo), y muchísimas pequeñas tiendas del tipo boho chic y con un punto naïf imposible recordar todos los nombres. Pero no os preocupéis porque al entrar en cualquiera de ellas sientes que entras en algo conocido. Y es que, en Oviedo tenemos un pequeño Portobello, sólo hay que entrar en Delunares, Les Xuntines, Cake-Keline....todas ellas (allí y aquí) con vestidos del estilo de Angel Eye, Lavand, Pepa Loves y Kling ...

Pero la verdadera cápsula del tiempo es Stumper&Fielding.
Ya avanzado Portobello Road, llegamos a la tienda que te transporta a otra época. Stumper & Fielding. Desgraciadamente no tienen web, pero esta es su página de Facebook. Es de hombre y mujer. Te transporta a un castillo en la campiña inglesa, caballos, cricket, té, sombreros, prismáticos, perros de caza...y todo a principios de siglo. El look de los dependientes es genial. Y no dudes en preguntarles por algo que no veas, porque siempre pueden tenerlo en el almacén. Más majos!!!
Espero que os haya gustado mi crónica del viaje. Y si visitais en algún momento Londres, os pueda servir de ayuda. Os voy a dar un último consejo: el famoso lema de la segunda guerra mundial "Keep calm and carry on" os perseguirá por todas las esquinas. Paciencia.

Es un lujo de tienda al alcance de todos. Y ahora, ya hablando de otro tipo de lujo, éste ya inalcanzable tenemos otro paseo obligatorio. La calle del superlujo. Olvidaos de las boutiques de Harrod´s esto sí que es superlujo con mayúsculas y en negrita. SUPERLUJO en Bond Street.
Las tiendas más exclusivas: Cartier, Armani, Chanel, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana...Todas con unos escaparates alucinantes. Imagináos que lo que parecía una joyería luego resultó ser Victoria´s Secret.

Y sin la espectacularidad de los de Louis Vuitton, este sencillo escaparate de Alexander McQueen, con los clutches de temporada (Unión Jack incluída), me parece precioso.

London Lesson 2: Portobello Rd and the most exclusive brands.
Notting Hill is one of the most popular
neighborhoods of London, due to Julia and Hugh. It
is a picturesque area full of colorful houses and in weekend day gets filled
with locals and tourists strolling the street market. We
distinguish two zones: Dining and clothes. Sweet and savory crepes, ethnic food
and even paella ... and another shopping area for clothing and decor.
There are the typical souvernir with the well-known souvenir clothes but with a chic twist, franchises known as All Saints Spitalfields (with its huge back wall full of sewing machines like the ones my grandmother had in her studio ... what emotional), and many little boho-chic-naïf shops… impossible to remember all the names. But do not worry because when you enter any of them feel you enter something known. And, we have a small Oviedo Portobello, simply enter Delunares, Les Xuntines, Cake-Keline .... all of them (here and there) you´ll find dresses in the style of Angel Eye, Lavand, Pepa Loves and Kling. ..
But true time capsule is Stumper & Fielding.
Late in Portobello Road, arrived at the store that transports you to another era. Stumper & Fielding. Unfortunately they have no web, but this is his Facebook page. It is for men and women. It evokes a castle in the English countryside, horses, cricket, tea, hats, binoculars, hunting dogs ... all at the beginning of the century. And do not hesitate to ask for something you do not see, because they can always have it in stock. Nice people working there!
It is a luxury shop that everyone can afford. And now, talking about another kind of luxury, in this case unnaffordable. It´s mandatory to have another walk through it. The super luxury street. Forget about Harrod´s exclusive boutiques, this is really super luxury. Super luxury in Bond Street.
The most exclusive shops: Cartier, Armani, Chanel, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana ... All with some amazing windows. Imagine that what seemed a jewelry turned out to be Victoria's Secret.
And the spectacular of Louis Vuitton, this simple showcase of Alexander McQueen, with the newest clutches (Union Jack included), I find it beautiful.
